MASON, Ohio – SUNY Geneseo senior Cassie Goodman finished an All-America 20th-place to lead the Knights to fifth place out of 32 teams at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country National Championships, hosted by Wilmington (Ohio) at the Kings Island Golf Course in Mason Ohio.

Goodman covered the 6-kilometer course in 22:18.7 to become the 12th All-America in program history, bringing home the 16th All-America certificate. For Geneseo, the result tied for the second-highest finish ever at the national championship race. The 2007 squad also placed fifth, while the 2005 team won the title. 

Johns Hopkins won its third-consecutive national championship with a winning score of 87 points, followed by MIT (112), St. Lawrence (138), Washington Univ. (180) and Geneseo (212). 

Junior Jacquie Huben placed 40th (22:33.6), followed closely by sophomore Marissa Bellusci in 43rd (22:37.6).

First-year Kristen Homeyer crossed the finish line 83rd (23:07.7), before senior Alyssa Knott rounded out the Knights' top-five in 94th (23:11.9).

Junior Ashton Hughes came across in 158th (23:38.1) before senior Joanna Castrogivanni ended up 191st (23:52.0) out of 275 runners in the field.
