Cortland, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo juniors Marylen Santos and Mai Hashimoto, Cat Crummey and senior Amanda Rosati captured matches as new doubles pairings, leading the team to a 9-0 win over Cortland on Friday. The Knights moved to 6-0 on the season and closed out their SUNYAC regular season schedule with a 5-0 mark.

"We did well in all phases of the match," said Coach Jim Chen. "Doubles was strong with two new combinations—Marylen and Mai, and Amanda and Cat—winning their matches, and sophomore Maggie Hale and senior Minxuan Yuan gave us their usual strong performance in winning at number-three doubles. The team practices in doubles are really paying off."

Santos, Crummey, Hashimoto, Rosati and M. Yuan also all captured their singles matches. Hashimoto moved up to the number-five singles slot and M. Yuan joined the lineup at number-six, her first match in singles this season. Senior Dexuan Yuan closed out the team scoring with a victory at number-four singles.

Geneseo will close out its regular season schedule with a match on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. against Rensselaer. The Knights, the number-one seed in the SUNYAC's Western Division, will begin defense of their SUNYAC championships next Friday, Oct. 10, against Plattsburgh. Semifinals are scheduled for Saturday and the finals on Sunday. All matches will be contested at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
