OBERLIN, Ohio - SUNY Geneseo senior Cassie Goodman finished first out of 341 runners to lead the women's cross country team to first place out of 40 teams at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin (Ohio), Saturday.
The Knights totaled 54 points to out-distance second-place Oneonta, which scored 125 points, while Oberlin (148), Case Western (204) and Mount Union (213) rounded out the top-five team finishers. Geneseo entered the meet ranked 7th nationally.
Goodman completed the six-kilometer course with a time of 22:02.2 as sophomore Marissa Bellusci came in 9th (22:34.7). Junior Ashton Hughes finished 11th (22:36.1) followed by junior Jacquie Huben in 15th (22:47.7)
Junior Rayanne Luke crossed the finish line 18th (22.50.4) to complete the Knights' top-five finishers. First-year Kristen Homeyer finished the course 22nd (22:56.6) while senior Keira Wood was close behind at 23rd (23:02.0) to close out Geneseo's top-seven runners.
The Knights return to action Saturday, November 1st, when the squad travels to Brockport for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship at 11:00 a.m.
