Complete SUNYAC Championship Women's Results
ONEONTA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Keira Wood won the individual title to lead the women's cross country team to their third-straight State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship, Saturday, at Fortin Park in Oneonta, N.Y. The team title was the 13th overall for the program in 14 years.
Wood crossed the 6K finish line in 22:01.4, outdistancing the rest of the 124-runner field by five seconds.
Geneseo compiled a winnnig score of 26 points, followed by runner-up Oneonta (86), Cortland (89), New Paltz (105) and Fredonia (121) to round out the top-five squads in the field of 10.
Four other Geneseo runners finished in the top-10. Junior Jacquie Huben was less than seven seconds behind her teammate (22:07.8) to take third place, while junior Joanna Castrogivanni ran to a sixth-place finish (22:17.0). Junior Cassie Goodman logged her second-straight top-10 finish with a seventh-place effort (22:22.2) after ending up fourth a season ago. First-year Sara Rosenzweig wrapped up the Knights' first five runners with a ninth-place showing (22:20.8).
Junior Alyssa Knott (22:34.7) and sophomore Winny Chen (22:42.4) finished off Geneseo' seven top runners with 12th and 16th-place finishes, respectively.
