TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – SUNY Geneseo sophomore Cassie Goodman finished 76th place to lead the Knights to a 26th-place team showing at the NCAA Division III National Championships, Saturday, hosted by Rose-Hulman at the LaVern Gibson Course.
Goodman covered the six-kilometer course in a time of 22 minutes, 34.8 seconds. Goodman was coming off a 20th-place effort at the NCAA Diviion III Atlantic Regional as well as a fourth-place finish at the State University of New York Championship earlier in the season.
Knights senior Cailin Kowalewski finished 106th (22:48.5), followed by junior Rebekah Steiinke in 186th (23:22.0), senior Emily Sullivan in 204th (23:29.4), sophomore Alyssa Knott in 215th (23:37.3) to round out the team's scoring five runners.
Additionally, junior Mary Aldridge finished 226th (23:45.1) while senior Brigid Heenan was 254th (24:11.2) out of 277 total runners in the field.
The NCAA berth was Geneseo's 14th straight and 19th overall appearance at the national meet.
Johns Hopkins was crowned the team champion with 158 points, while Wisconsin-Oshkosh's Christy Cazzola ran to the individual title in 20:53.3.
