GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo senior Elise Ramirez was named the State University of New York (SUNYAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year for the second-straight season while head Coach Dan Moore landed his fourth-consecutive Coach of the Year honor, announced Wednesday.
Ramirez won her second-straight individual title at the SUNYAC Championships to lead the Knights to their eighth-consecutive team victory while marking the eighth year a Geneseo runner won the race. She then finished first at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships as the Knights won their fourth-straight title earlier this month. Ramirez capped the fall with an All-American 25th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships as Geneseo placed fifth out of 32 teams for the program's fifth top-five showing in the last six seasons.
Moore was voted the conference's top coach for the fourth year in a row while also being tabbed the Atlantic Region Coach of the Year for the fourth-straight time since taking over the program in 2015. Under his watch, Fernandez and junior Genny Corcoran were named All-Americans, while the duo joined senior Laura Barreca, sophomore Olivia Baumann, senior Dana Cebulski, senior Allison Fernandez and junior Taylor Rettig in All-Region recognition. The seven were also named All-SUNYAC, along with junior Annibell Coolican and sophomore Carissa DiTullio.
