GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team defeated New Paltz and Fredonia on the final day of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Pool Play, Saturday, in Schrader Gymnasium.
- Geneseo (20-7, 9-0 SUNYAC) finished 9-0 in the SUNYAC for the first time in program history to clinch the top seed and a first-round bye for the SUNYAC Tournament. The Knights also earned the right to host the semifinals and championship matches on Nov. 2-3.
- Geneseo will host the SUNYAC Tournament for only the third time in the 48-year history of the program and first time since falling in the championship match to Cortland, 3-0, in 1998. The Knights also hosted the 1996 tournament, falling the semis to Oneonta, 3-0.
- Geneseo notched back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since logging the three-in-a-row from 2004-06. The Knights ended last season with a 23-11 mark.

Geneseo heads to Maryland next Friday and Saturday (Oct. 26-27) for a quad match at Frostburg State. The Knights will take on Clarkson on Friday at 8:00 a.m. before squaring off with Salisbury (3:00 p.m.) and host Frostburg St. (5:00 p.m.) on Saturday.
