Women's Track & Field Runs At BU Hemerey Invitational

BOSTON - The SUNY Geneseo women's track & field team team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University. 

The field included open athletes from around the world as well as Division I, II and III competitors. 

  • Junior Hannah Madden posted the fifth-best time in program history with a fifth-place finish in the 60-meter dash (8.03).
  • First-year Jenna Strickland set a program-record in the 200 (26.12), followed by Madden (26.17) with the third-fastest time ever by a Knight.
  • The 4x400 team of junior Shayna Held, senior Lauren Bamford, first-year Laura Zopf and first-year Kayla Barber placed 19th with the second-fastest clocking (3:56.34) in Geneseo history. 

Geneseo will be back in action next Saturday (Feb. 17) at the Brockport Invitational in its final tune-up for the SUNYAC Championships the following week (Feb. 23-24).
