GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Camille Wutz earned a pair of first-place finishes, winning both the 100-meter and the long jump as the Knights hosted the Geneseo Early Season Invite on Sunday afternoon.
In the 100-meter, Wutz finished with a 12.67 while junior Lauren Bamford took third with a 16.38. Wutz was also a member of the first-place 4x100-meter relay team, joining senior Alexa Wandy, sophomore Erin MacDougall and first-year Lauryn Krupa to finish at 49.28. Sophomore Shayna Held and MacDougall crossed first and third, clocking in at 15.89 and 16.38, respectively. The Knights took first in the 4x400-meter relay as well, with Bamford teaming with senior Mackenzie Ross, junior Julianna Lauricella and sophomore Jill Decker to finish in 4:08.33.
In the distance events, Geneseo sophomore Elise Ramirez and senior Marissa Cossaro went 1-2 in the 1,500-meter crossing at 4:42.75 and 4:43.64, respectively. Knights took the top two spots in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as well, with senior Sara Rosenzweig and sophomore Brooke Madry coming in at 11:00.87 and 11:56.85, respectively. In the field, reigning NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Champion in the triple jump senior Alexa Wandy took first with a leap of 12.72m.
Geneseo will continue its spring season on Saturday, April 8 when the team travels to the Roc City Classic, hosted by Nazareth.
