GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore attacker Hannah Marafioti was named State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Knights to a pair of conference wins over nationally-ranked opponents.
Marafioti scored a career-high 10 points on eight goals and two assists, including the overtime game-winning goal in Saturday's 19-18 comeback victory over No. 18 Cortland. Marafioti scored three of the Knights' last four goals and assisted the other as the Knights beat the Red Dragons for the first time since 2005 while handing the 20-time defending SUNYAC Champions only their second loss to a conference opponent in 90 games dating back to 2009. Marafioti also totaled three goals and an assist in Geneseo's 13-11 victory at No. 25 Brockport on Wednesday. She leads the SUNYAC with 74 points and is second with 54 goals.
The Knights will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to face Buffalo State.
