BUFFALO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore forward McKenna Brooks scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds while senior guard Katie Durand added 13 points to lead the Knights to a 61-48 victory over host Buffalo State, Friday, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's basketball action.
Geneseo improved to 13-0 (7-0 SUNYAC), notching the fourth-longest winning-streak to start a season in program history.
A three-point play by Brooks forged the Knights to a double-digit lead, 19-8, with 3:43 left in the first quarter. Leading, 25-10, at 1:26 of the first, Geneseo scored the next 12 points to forge a 25-point edge, 37-12, with 4:49 left in the second half that proved insurmountable.
The Knights host Fredonia on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
