BROCKPORT, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore Luke Holtzman won the 1,000-meter run while first-year Jacob Converse won the 60-meter hurdles to highlight the Knights day at the Golden Eagle Invitation, Saturday, hosted by Brockport.
Holtzman posted a winning time of 2:30.93 in the 1,000, crossing the finish line with the second-fastest time in school history.
Converse bested the hurdle field with an 8.64 clocking, which was the fourth-fastest time ever by a Knights' runner. His day also included a second-place showing in the high, posting a leap of 6 feet, 3 1/4 inches (1.91m)
Other strong finishes included a runner-up finish by sophomore Amman Weaver in the 60-meter dash (7.11), a second-place finish by senior Alex Hall in the 5,000 (16:16.32) a second-place effort by senior Connor Pulvidente in the 3,000 (8:58.59) and a second-place showing by senior David Pollock in the long jump (22-1 3/4 - 6.75m)
Geneseo will return to Brockport next Friday and Saturday for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships.
