Men's Track & Field Competes In Bucknell's Bison Open

LEWISBURG, Pa. - SUNY Geneseo senior Ryan Moynihan, junior Travis Briggs and first-year John Ripa each recorded a second-place finish to lead the Knights at the Bison Open hosted by Bucknell over the weekend.

Moynihan took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.44 while first-year Gillan Faulkner came in fifth (1:57.10) and first-year Lorenzo Mazzuca was sixth (1:57.16).

Briggs ran to second place in the 3,000-meter run, completing the event in a time of 8:37.54. Junior Alfredo Mazzuca was close behind Briggs in fourth (8:38.55).

In the 1,000-meter run, Ripa registered another second-place finish for the Knights, crossing the finish line in a time of 2:37.49.

In the 5,000-meter run, junior Colin Kern took fourth (15:14.94) followed by sophomore Alexander Burks in fifth (15:15.68), sophomore Connor Pulvidente in sixth (15:17.52) and junior John Panus in eighth (15:18.59).

First-year James Laguerre II finished in fourth place in the 400-meter dash (51.03) and joined teammates, senior Ben Wach, first-year Zachary Hannahoe and junior Nate Lo Parco finished the event in 3:28.75 to take seventh place.

Senior Michael Segelin recorded a time of 22.75 in the 200-meter dash prelims, the fourth-best time in Geneseo indoor track & field history.

The Knights return to action next weekend at the Bomber Invitational & Multi hosted by Ithaca.
