Trio Lands SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference

GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo junior defenseman Jack Crowley, senior midfielder Andrew Cummings and sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Wetzel were voted to the 2018 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Team, announced Wednesday.

Now a three-time all-conference selection, Crowley was named a first-team honoree after landing second-team recognition the last two seasons. One of the conference's top defenders, he finished second for the Knights with 30 ground balls and third with 17 caused turnovers.

Cummings was named a second-team all-star. He led Geneseo and finished 14th in the SUNYAC with 17 goals while closing the season second on the squad with 19 points. Cummings tallied a career-high four goals in Geneseo's 6-5 victory at Clarkson (Mar. 24) and also added three goals and an assist in the squad's 9-8 win over visiting St. John Fisher (Apr. 9).

Wetzel joined Cummings on the All-SUNYAC Second Team. Stepping into the starting role midseason, Wetzel finished second in the conference in save percentage (60.5%) and goals against average (6.81). He turned away 14 shots in his first start of the season, a 6-5 win at Clarkson (Mar. 24), and recorded a career-high 16 saves in the Knights' 9-4 victory over conference rival Potsdam (Apr. 21).

Geneseo finished the season with a 7-7 record, including a 2-4 conference mark to finish one game short of their second-straight SUNYAC postseason appearance.
