GENESEO N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo first-year forward Conlan Keenan scored his 10th goal of the season to help the No. 4/5 Knights skate past visiting Fredonia (3-4-1, 3-3-1 SUNYAC) in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action, Friday.
After a scoreless first period, senior forward Jack Ceglarski was the recipient of a great outlet pass from sophomore goalkeeper Devin McDonald at the far blue line off the right-wing boards that he finished to put the Knights ahead, 1-0, with 12:34 on the second-period clock.
Keenan finished off a series of nice Geneseo (7-1-1, 3-1-0 SUNYAC) passes with a tip-in on the crease that made it a 2-0 lead with 4:45 remaining in the period.
The Knights put the finishing touch on their first shut-out of the season with 9:56 remaining in the third period with a goal from first-year forward Devin Brink.
McDonald recorded 23 saves while the Knights outshot Fredonia 51-23 for the game. Fredonia sophomore keeper Eric Bogart recorded 48 saves in the losing effort.
Geneseo returns to action Saturday (December 3rd) traveling to Buffalo State for a 7:00 p.m. SUNYAC matchup.
