ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's and women's swimming and diving teams participated in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk and fundraiser on Sunday morning at Frontier Field in Rochester, and brought in over $11,000 to support the cause.
The student-athletes participated in a noncompetitive walk to raise money to fund innovative breast cancer research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it's most treatable.
The men's and women's swimming and diving teams combined to raise $11,021 for the cause, and were the fourth-largest group fundraiser out of over 450 organizations that participated in the Rochester event. Over the past three years combined, the Knights have raised over $25,000 to support the fight against breast cancer.
