Geneseo SAAC to Raise Awareness for Domestic and Relationship Violence with Annual Event

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host the second-annual Yards for Yeardley Walk and Run to raise awareness for domestic and relationship violence. The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and its members have partnered with the One Love Foundation to raise awareness about the warning signs of domestic abuse and activate communities across the conference to work to raise awareness of and help prevent relationship violence.

The event will be held on Thursday, April 26, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with activities on and around the College Green. The Geneseo SAAC asks members of the campus and community to walk or run the loop around the College Green, or a new 1.5 mile loop around the campus. Several activities will be held and prizes will be handed out during the course of the event, including t-shirts, prizes from local businesses along Main Street, and even tickets to a New York Jets football game this coming fall.
