GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Department participated in the 2016 Teresa House Comfort Care Walk, Saturday morning.
Nearly 250 student-athletes walked the streets of Geneseo to show their support for the Teresa House. All of the proceeds from the event will go towards ensuring the Teresa House staff and volunteers has the resources necessary to continue providing the highest quality of comfort care to surrounding counties.
Despite not receiving any State or Federal funding, the Teresa House has offered a home-like setting for persons with a life expectancy of less than three months for over 20 years. During this time, they have provided care for over 380 residents and their families solely through the generosity and donations of the community.
Members of Geneseo's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) were responsible for gathering their fellow teammates and members of Geneseo Athletics to participate in the walk.
