LOUISVILLE, Ky. - SUNY Geneseo senior Sara Rosenzweig finished an All-America 28th to lead the Knights to third place out of 32 teams at the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships, Saturday, at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky. It was the program's third-consecutive top-five finish at the national championship meet.
Geneseo compiled 214 points to finish behind runner-up Washington (Mo.) (202) and champion Johns Hopkins (128).
Rosenzweig crossed the finish line with a time of 21:14.1, moving up nine spots from last year's 37th-place effort to nab her first cross country All-America honor. Senior Marissa Cossaro placed 39th (21:18.8) before sophomore Elise Ramirez finished 69th (21:44.5), senior Marissa Bellusci ended up 96th (21:57.3) and junior Kristen Homeyer landed 113th (22:02.0) to round out the Knights' top-five.
Rosenzweig became Geneseo's 14th All-American in program history, bringing home the 18th All-America certificate for the Knights.
Geneseo was making its 23rd NCAA Championship appearance in team history, including its 18th-straight. The third-place showing was the team's 10th top-10 showing, including its fifth top-five effort.
