MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior Sara Rosenzweig finished second to lead five Knights in the top-10 at the 36th-Annual Mike Woods Invitational at the Letchworth State Park High Banks Recreation Area Course, Saturday.
The Knights compiled a winning score of 22 points, out-distancing runner-up Elizabethtown (Pa.) (155), Laurentian (105), RIT (109) and Fredonia (135) in the top-five of 24 teams. The victory was the 12th-straight for Geneseo at their home invitational.
RIT senior Emma Jones took the individual title, crossing the finish line with a winning time of 21:39.8.
Rosenzweig notched a runner-up clocking of 21:50.6, followed by Knights' senior Marissa Cossaro in third (21:57.1). Senior Marissa Bellusci ended up fourth (22:13.6), followed by junior Kristen Homeyer (22:27.1) in sixth and senior Ashley Peppriell in seventh (22:33.0).
Geneseo will be back in action in two weeks (Oct. 15), traveling to Rowan (N.J.) for the Pre-Atlantic Regional meet.
