GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's and women's cross country squads officially announced schedule for the upcoming 2016 season.
Second-year head coach Dan Moore and the defending State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) champions Knights will be in action on their home course of Letchworth State Park twice throughout the fall, including the SUNYAC Championships in October.
"I am thrilled with the race schedule this season," said Moore, who was voted both the SUNYAC and Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2015. "The administration is very supportive in allowing the student-athletes to have ample opportunities to compete as well as face some of the best programs in all of Division III."
Geneseo will start the season at the Cardinal Early Season Invite (Sept. 2), hosted by St. John Fisher. After running at the Oswego Invitational (Sept. 10), the Knights will head to the Rochester Invitational (Sept. 17) at Genesee Valley Park.
What promises to be a field comprised of some of the top programs in the country awaits the following weekend (Sept. 24) at the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by Williams (Mass.) to close out the month.
Geneseo will then host the 36th-Annual Mike Woods Invitational (Oct. 1) at Letchworth, before taking a week off to prepare for the Pre-Atlantic Regional at Rowan (Oct. 15).
The SUNYAC Championships (Oct. 29) will lead the Knights into November and the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championships (Nov. 12) back at Rowan where Geneseo will look to extend the nation's longest streak (13 seasons) of qualifying both the men's and women's program for the NCAA Division III Championships (Nov. 19), to be run at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky.
