Women's Volleyball Starts Season 0-2

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team started the season with a pair of four-set losses on the first day of the Mount Union Invitational, Friday. The Knights started with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 18-25, 25-14) setback opposite Denison (Ohio), before falling to Alma (Ohio), 3-1 (29-27, 23-25, 25-21, 25-22).

Sophomore outside hitter Grace Cergol logged a pair of double-double performances, compiling a career-high 27 kills to go along with 16 digs opposite Denison before adding 12 kills and 13 digs against Alma.

Sophomore Libero Sam Mendelsohn added 23 digs against Alma after totaling 18 digs in the opener.

Geneseo returns to action at Mount Union on Saturday, taking on Wooster (Ohio) at 10:00 a.m. before squaring off with Allegheny (Pa.) at 2:00 p.m.
