Women's Volleyball Drops Pair Of Five-Set Matches

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team dropped a pair of five-set decisions on the second day of the Mount Union Invitational, Saturday.

MOUNT UNION 3, GENESEO 2 (23-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-5, 15-12)
Geneseo senior middle blocker Courtney Cleary scored 18 kills while first-year outside hitter Grace Cergol totaled a double-double with 10 kills and 20 digs, but it was the host Purple Raiders coming back from a two-set deficit to defeat the Knights.

GROVE CITY 3, GENESEO 2 (25-19, 21-25, 15-25, 26-24, 15-13)
Cergol notched her second-straight double-double with 11 kills and 19 digs while Cleary notched 17 kills in the setback. First-year outside hitter Abby May compiled 15 kills and eight digs for the Knights.

Geneseo returns to action next Friday and Saturday (Sept. 9-10) with three matches at the U of R Invitational.
