Women's Volleyball Falls Twice At Mount Union Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team opened the 2016 season with a pair of setbacks to start the season at the Mount Union (Ohio) Invitational, Friday.

John Carroll 3, Geneseo 1 (21-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-21)
First-year outside hitter Grace Cergol totaled 13 kills while senior middle blocker Courtney Cleary added 12 kills to lead the Knights in the season-opening setback.

No. 14 Hope 3, Geneseo 0 (25-16, 27-25, 25-21)
Baxley totaled a team-high eight kills while Cergol and first-year outside hitter Abbey Scheffler each compiled eight digs in the setback.

The Knights return to action on Saturday, taking on the host Purple Raiders at 10:00 a.m. before squaring off with Grove City (Pa.) at noon.
