Women's Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season Hosting Geneseo Invitational

GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo women's track & field team kicked off the outdoor portion of the 2017-18 campaign, hosting the Geneseo Invitational, Saturday. 

  • Junior Shayna Held led a 1-3 Knights' sweep of the 100 hurdles (14.79) with the fourth-best time in program history.
  • Senior Camille Wutz swept the long (5.58m/18' 3.75") and triple (11.26m/36' 11.5") jumps while also finishing second in the 100 (12.32).
  • Junior Elise Ramirez won the 1,500 (4:45.33) while junior Brooke Madry won the steeplechase (11:29.30).
  • Senior Lauren Bamford finished first in the 400 (59.94).
  • Junior Erin MacDougall set a school record in finishing second in the 200 (25.62)

Geneseo will travel to the Hamilton Invitational next Saturday (April 7). Competition is set to start at 10:00 a.m.
