Wandy, Ross Tabbed SUNYAC Women's Track & Field Athletes Of The Week

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo seniors Alexa Wandy and Mackenzie Ross were both honored by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), Tuesday, with weekly women's track & field honors.

Wandy posted the top long jump in Division III this season, posting a jump of 5.99 meters (19 feet, 8 inches) to win the event at the Nazareth ROC City Classic, Sunday. Breaking a 32-year old SUNYAC record in the process, she also won the 100 (12.39) with a time that ranks 36th nationally and also added a leg to the winning 4x400 (3:58.49) that currently ranks 15th.

It was the second-straight honor for Wandy after she also broke the SUNYAC triple jump record (41-8 3/4 - 12.72m) that stood for 19 years during the Geneseo Early Season Invitational (Apr. 2).

Ross took first in the 800m at the Nazareth ROC City Classic on Sunday. The senior posted a time of 2:14.40, marking the fastest time in the conference this year and the 13th-fastest clocking in the nation this season.
