Women's Track & Field Runs Well At Golden Eagle Invitational

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo junior Camille Wutz set school records in winning the long jump and finishing second in the 60 to lead the Knights to second place out of nine teams at the Golden Eagle Invitational, Saturday, hosted by Brockport. 

Wutz crossed the finish line with a runner-up 7.85 clocking in the 60, before besting the field in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 3 1/4 inches (5.78m).

Junior Lauren Bamford finished first in the 500 (1:17.58), while sophomore Jill Decker (2:28.13) finished second in the 800.  

Senior Ashley Peppriell ended up second in the mile (5:18.13) while sophomore Shayna Held was runner-up in the 60-hurdles (9.53) and first-year Sarah Bronk finished second in the pole vault (10-8, 3.25m).

Geneseo will return to Brockport next Friday and Saturday for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships.
