Women's Track & Field Opens Semester At Utica Invitational

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's track & field team kicked off the spring semester at the Utica College Pioneer Invitational 2 on Saturday at the Hutton Sports & Recreation Center.

Senior Mackenzie Ross and junior Camille Wutz each won two events. Ross finished first in the 800 (2:23.41) and teamed with junior Sarevah Shafer, first-year Jill Decker and sophomore Hunter Gowans to win the 4x400 relay (4:11.77).

Wutz finishing first in the 60-meter dash (7.99) while also taking first in the triple jump (11.28m). 

Other individual winners included senior Alexa Wandy in the long jump (5.45m) and junior Lauren Bamford in the 500 (1:19.52).

The team will return to action on Friday (Jan. 20) at the Houghton Highlander Invitational.
