Women's Tennis Takes Down Cortland, 7-2

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year Natalia Krol earned a pair of victories to lead the Knights to a victory over State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foe Cortland, 7-2, in the team's home opener on Friday afternoon.

Krol teamed with senior Nina Lurie to earn an 8-0 victory at second doubles and then went on to a 6-2, 6-1 win at third singles. First-year Julianna Schulz and sophomore Gretchen Ayoub took an 8-3 victory at third doubles as the Knights took a 2-1 lead after doubles play.

Sophomore Cate Gluchowski won, 6-4, 6-2, at sixth singles while Schulz earned a straight-set win at the fifth flight. Lurie won, 6-0, 6-1, at fourth singles while first-year Olga Shvetsova notched a 6-1, 7-6 win at the top flight. 

Geneseo improves to 3-0 with a 2-0 mark in the SUNYAC and will travel to take part in the Swarthmore Invitational this weekend.
