Women's Tennis Starts Conference Play With 9-0 Victory Over Oswego

OSWEGO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year Alexa Villez earned wins at first singles and first doubles to lead the Knights to a 9-0 victory over State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival Oswego on Tuesday afternoon.

Villez teamed with first-year Jullianna Schulz for an 8-2 victory at first doubles and grabbed a 6-2, 6-1 win at first singles. Sophomore Dana Sorrentino and junior Sam Montague earned an 8-2 victory at second doubles while Ana Amorim Da Silva Gusmini and Natalia Krol won, 8-0, at third doubles. 

Amorim Da Silva Gusmini earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at second singles while Krol rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at third singles. First-year Kathryn Solomon triumphed with a 7-5, 6-2 victory at fourth singles while first-years Sophia Alkhouri Stuart and Grace Klomp each earned straight-set victories at fifth and sixth singles, respectively. 

The Knights (2-0, 1-0 SUNYAC) will host Cortland on Friday, Sept. 14 at 3:00 p.m.
