Women's Tennis Sweeps Singles to Take Down Agnes Scott

LAKELAND, FLA. - SUNY Geneseo senior Rachel Ollis and junior Vanessa Lam-Tran teamed at first doubles to earn a victory and each won their singles matches as the Knights earned a win in their spring opener, 8-1, over Agnes Scott on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Lam-Tran and Ollis earned an 8-3 victory at first doubles while senior Lauren Salzano and junior Nina Lurie paired at second doubles to win, 8-4.
  • In singles play, Geneseo swept Agnes Scott with Salzano, Lam-Tran, Ollis and Lurie winning at first through fourth singles, respectively. First-years Dana Sorrentino (fifth singles, 6-3, 6-3) and Cate Gluchowski (sixth singles, 6-1, 6-0) each earned straight-set victories as well.

  • Salzano and Lurie played together for the first time, teaming at second doubles for a victory. 
  • Zara Shah made her collegiate debut for the Knights, teaming with first-year Gretchen Ayoub at third doubles.
