GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo juniors Anika Pornpitaksuk and Lauren Salzano were named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Year and joined three other teammates in being named All-SUNYAC.
Pornpitaksuk and Salzano were selected to the first team in doubles, while Pornpitaksuk joined junior Sienna Susko and sophomore Vanessa Lam-Tran in garnering first-team all-conference singles honors.
Salzano was named a second-team selection in singles along with sophomore Nina Lurie, while Lam-Tran and Susko were also picked second-team all-stars in doubles.
Pornpitaksuk and Salzano were one of three Geneseo doubles pairings to sweep all three of their matches during the SUNYAC Tournament as the Knights won their sixth-consecutive SUNYAC Championship.
Lam-Tran, who was named the MVP of the SUNYAC Tournament, also won two singles points during the tournament. She currently owns a team-best 10-6 doubles record while her 5-6 singles mark includes an unbeaten 5-0 mark opposite SUNYAC players.
Susko currently owns an 8-3 singles record along with an 8-7 doubles mark. Salzano's doubles mark is 9-4 while her singles record of 6-8 came playing at number-one for the fall season.
Pornpitaksuk compiled an 8-3 singles record along with a 8-4 doubles mark this fall while Lurie's singles record stands at 8-6.
