Women's Swimming & Diving Top Canisius, 140-103, In Season Opener

BUFFALO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore Deidra Osula finished first in the 50 free and anchored a pair of first-place relays as the Knights defeated the NCAA Division I Griffins, 140-103, Saturday afternoon. 

Osula opened the season with a first-place finish in the 50 free, clocking in at 24.43. She teamed with sophomore Lauren Siegel, Noelle Staso and Olivia Hilt to win the 200 medley relay, clocking an anchor freestyle leg in 23.78. She then swam anchor for the Knights' 200 free relay, teaming with senior Nancy Shemet, junior Annabelle Anich and sophomore Kelly Lennon, clocking a 23.81 leg as the Knights took first again.

Senior Nancy Nasky took first in both the 1,000 free (10:41.70) and the 500 free (5:15.11) while Sydney Ng topped the field in the 200 free (1:58.32). Siegel took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.84, while Staso finished first in the 100 breast (1:08.25). Sophomore Samantha Reichman finished as the Knights' top diver, taking first in the one-meter (245.25) and second in the three-meter (247.50)

Geneseo will return to action on Saturday, November 3 when they travel to Fredonia for a tri-meet with the Blue Devils and visiting Grove City.
