GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo head swimming & diving coach Paul Dotterweich was voted the 2017 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's and Women's Coach of the Year, while head diving coach Shawn Austin was also voted the Women's SUNYAC Diving Coach of the Year.
Completing his 17th season with the program, Dotterweich was named the men's premier coach for the 10th time after leading the Knights to their 16th overall and fourth-straight SUNYAC team championship. He received the same honor on the women's side, leading the squad to a 10th-consecutive conference crown and its 14th overall.
Out of 20 total individual and relay events that comprise each championship during the meet, the Geneseo men won 11 events while the women claimed victory in eight. A total of 26 Knights earned All-SUNYAC selections with 13 men and 13 women garnering the conference honors.
After winning three individual events and anchoring a first place relay team, sophomore Nancy Nasky was named SUNYAC Women's Swimmer of the Meet, marking the eighth time in nine years that a student-athlete under Dotterweich's charge has won the award.
Austin was named the conference's top diving coach after guiding three Knights to top-10 finishes in the one-meter, including a third-place mark by first-year Samantha Reichman (457.10). He also saw three Geneseo divers earn top-six finishes in the three-meter, led by senior Claudia Kolakowski's second-place finish (486.50).
