NCAA Regional Diving Championships Information (Ithaca, N.Y.)
GENESEO, N.Y. - After leading the SUNY Geneseo Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships, five swimmers have qualified for the NCAA Championships in Shenandoah, Texas next month while six divers have moved on to the NCAA Regionals hosted by Ithaca College, this Friday and Saturday.
Sophomore Nancy Nasky earned her second trip to the NCAA Championships after winning her second-straight SUNYAC title in the 1,650 free with a time of 17:10.95. She will look to improve upon her 17th-place finish in the 1,650, while also competing in the 200 and 500 freestyle events for the second-straight year.
Senior Claudia Kolakowski, junior Emily Reiter and first-year Samantha Reichman all posted NCAA-B Standard scores at the SUNYAC championships as Kolakowski qualified for her third appearance, while Reiter earned her second berth.
The Geneseo men's 200 free relay team of juniors Jeff Doser, Derek Secord and Scott Guyton and sophomore Matthew Modelewski also qualified for NCAA Championships with a first place finish at the SUNYAC Championships. The quartet set a conference record time of 1:22.32 to reach the NCAA-B Standard. It marks the first trip to NCAA Championships for all four swimmers.
Three men's divers will be making their third-straight appearance at the NCAA Regionals, led by defending 3-meter national champion junior Samuel Randall, who also finished an All-American third-place on 1-meter a season ago. He will be joined by seniors Anthony Burgois and Ben Spaid.
