Women's Swimming & Diving Splits Saturday Tri-Meet

PITTSBURGH - SUNY Geneseo senior Louisa Seelbach and sophomore Nancy Nasky each won two events to lead the Knights to a dual-meet split, hosted by Carnegie Mellon, Saturday.

The Knights defeated Westminster (Pa.), 215.5-84.5, but fell to the host Tartans, 177-123.

"I thought the team swam great," said head coach Paul Dotterweich. "I was extremely pleased with our performances. We've been training hard and the results reflect the work we have put in."

Nasky logged the day's fastest times in the 1,000 freestyle (10:26.66) and the 500 freestyle (5:09.02). Seelbach bested the field in the 50 freestyle (24.67) and anchored the winning 200 free relay, with first-year Annabelle Anich, senior Nicole Fico and junior Kaitlin Doherty (1:39.95).

Other individual winners included senior Claudia Kolakowski, who set a school record in besting the field in 3-meter diving (292.15), senior Emily Smith in the 100 backstroke (1:00.23), sophomore Sydney Ng in the 200 backstroke (2:06.93)
