Max Earns Six All-America Certificates At NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - SUNY Geneseo junior Abby Max won three individual All-America certificates and swam on three All-America relays to lead the Knights to 22nd place out of 51 scoring teams at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, which wrapped up Saturday, at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.

Max finished 10th in with SUNYAC and school records in the 500 freestyle (4:54.32) on Wednesday, before taking 12th in the 200 freestyle (1:51.54) on Thursday. She logged her final individual All-America nod on Saturday, placing 15th in the 100 freestyle (51.74).

On Thursday, Max joined sophomore Julie Holloway, junior Stephanie Wilcoxen and sophomore Kala Wilkins to finish 14th in the 200 free relay (1:36.29), before teaming with Holloway, senior Lauren Boyce and Wilcoxen on Saturday to place 15th in the 800 free relay (7:39.05). Holloway, Wilcoxen, Boyce and Max finished the four-day competition by placing 15th in the 400 free relay (3:29.92). All three relays garnered All-America recognition.

The Geneseo women finished with 29 points as a team. Emory was crowned National Champion after totaling 595 points to out-distance second-place Kenyon (456).

On the men's side, junior John Nasky finished 20th in the 1,650 free (16:09.65) on Saturday after a week that also included a 21st-place showing in the 500 free (4:34.61) that broke a Geneseo record.
