Janiszewski Sets Program Record for Shutouts as Women’s Soccer Defeats Houghton, 1-0

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior goalkeeper Emily Janiszewski saved one shot to record her 11th shutout of the season and the 39th of her career, setting the Geneseo program record as the Knights earned a 1-0 victory against Houghton, Tuesday at College Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

First-year forward Hannah Sullivan opened the scoring with a goal from 18-yards out one minute into the game after she received a pass from junior midfielder Sarah Loprieno.

Geneseo held Houghton to one shot in the second half while maintaining possession for the majority of contest.

QUICK FACTS

The Knights (12-3-1) outshot Houghton (5-6-3), 23-1, with a 17-0 advantage in the first half.

Geneseo finished with an 11-0 edge in corner kicks.

Geneseo improves to 16-0-2 all-time against the Highlanders.
