Women's Soccer Travels To Brazil

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer team is spending 11 days traveling, touring and competing in one of the world's top soccer-playing countries and the home of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

The Knights departed for Brazil on Tuesday and have a full itinerary that includes stops in Sao Bento do Sapucai (Sao Paulo), Paraty and the island of Ilha Grande culminating with a visit to Rio de Janeiro before returning home on June 10.

The squad is scheduled to train, host youth clinics and play multiple games opposite local club teams while being immersed in the local culture along the way. Kayaking, snorkeling, hiking and fishing as well as a visit to the famous "Christ Redeemer" statue will also be included in the team's plans.
