GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior midfielder Erin Cregan and senior defender Karen Boronczyk were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Empire Region, announced earlier this week.
A first-team selection for the second-consecutive season, Cregan scored 36 goals and dished off 10 assists and tied for the team lead with 24 caused turnovers with 33 ground balls. She finishes her career ranked ninth in Geneseo program history with 161 career points and seventh in goals with 126. Cregan became just the fifth Knight in program history to be named a four-time SUNYAC all-star, and just the third in Geneseo history to be a three-time IWLCA All-Region pick.
Karen Boronczyk earned All-Region Second Team for the second-straight year after landing her second-consecutive All-SUNYAC First Team award. Boronczyk led Geneseo with 37 ground balls and 59 draw controls while tying Cregan for first with 24 caused turnovers. Boronczyk finished her career with 121 draw controls, good for fifth in Geneseo history, including 59 this season, the Knights' sixth-highest single-season total.
Geneseo finished the season with a 13-5 record, including a 6-2 SUNYAC mark that clinched the second seed for its 18th SUNYAC Tournament appearance in 21 years. The Knights also opened the campaign with a program-record 11-straight victories which was also the longest winning-streak in team history.
