Marafioti Named DIII Women's Lacrosse National Player of the Week By IWLCA

IWLCA WEEKLY - EPISODE 3 (POW ANNOUNCED AT 9:00 MARK)

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year attacker Hannah Marafioti was named the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Offensive Player of the Week, announced Wednesday.

Marafioti keyed a 2-0 week as Geneseo moved up to No. 13 in latest Division III national rankings.

Also named the SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Week, she totaled five goals, including what proved to be the game-winner, and an assist in the Knights' 10-8 upset of No. 9 Ithaca on Saturday after notching three goals in the squad's 15-9 win over visiting RIT on Tuesday.

The Knights opened the spring with a 7-0 mark for the first time since 2011. A victory in Saturday's SUNYAC opener versus visiting Oneonta (1:00 p.m.) would tie the 2005 squad for the best start in program history.
