Women's Lacrosse Sinks Potsdam, 15-7

GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo junior attack Hannah Millich scored a game-high five goals, while junior midfielder Erin Cregan and sophomore midfielder Maddie Lee added four goals and two assists apiece, to lead the Knights to a 15-7 victory in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action, Saturday, on Senior Day at College Stadium. 

The win clinched a seventh-straight postseason berth for Geneseo (8-8, 5-3 SUNYAC). The Knights earned the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 seeded Buffalo State in a quarterfinal match-up on Tuesday (May 2) at 4 p.m. at College Stadium.   

Geneseo jumped out to a 4-0 lead and maintained at least a four-goal lead over Potsdam (3-12, 0-8 SUYAC) the rest of the way. Lee's first two strikes of the day put the Knights up 2-0, and she would score twice more on free position shots as Geneseo established a 9-3 halftime lead. 

In the second half, Millich scoring unassisted once (20:03) and later on assists from Cregan (10:11) and Lee (9:22), respectively as her final goal gave the Knights their largest lead of the game, 14-5. 

Geneseo honored seniors Lauren Corbett, Kathleen DePillo and Jenelle Lightfoote in a pregame Senior Day ceremony, as the Class of 2017 played their final regular-season game at College Stadium.
