Women's Lacrosse Takes Care Of Potsdam, 14-5

POTSDAM, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior midfielder Liz Felix totaled three goals and three assists while senior attack Tara Basile added two goals and three assistst to lead the Knights to a 14-5 victory at Potsdam in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse, Saturday.

Geneseo (10-4, 5-1 SUNYAC) finished the game with eight-unanswered goals to break open what was a one-goal game, 6-5, with 25:23 left in the second half. 

Junior midfielder Lauren Corbett opened the scoring with 27:41 on the first-half clock as the teams traded three goals apiece to start the game tied 3-3 with 17:20 remaining. Tallies by senior attack Erin Down (12:18) and junior attack Kathleen DePillo gave Geneseo a two-goal cushion with 5:52 left in the first half.

Potsdam pulled back within one, 5-4, with 3:21 on the clock, but it was sophomore attack Hannah Millich scoring the first of her four goals on the afternoon to stake the visitors to a 6-4 lead at halftime. 

The Bears (7-6, 3-3 SUNYAC) opened the second half with a tally at 25:23, but it was the Knights' defense shutting out their hosts the rest of the way. Millich found the net three times during the decisive run while Felix added two goals and three assists as Geneseo earned its ninth win in its last 10 outings. 

The Knights return to action on Tuesday with a trip to conference-rival Brockport at 4:00 p.m.
