Women's Lacrosse Picks Up 7th-Straight Win, 12-5, At Oswego

OSWEGO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore midfielder Erin Cregan totaled three goals and two assists while senior attack Tara Basile added a goal and four assists to lead the Knights to a 12-5 victory at Oswego in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's lacrosse, Tuesday.

Senior midfielder Liz Felix added four goals and a game-high five draw controls as Geneseo (8-3, 3-0 SUNYAC) earned its seventh-consecutive victory.

Cregan scored the Knights' first two goals and assisted the first of sophomore attack Hannah Millich's back-to-back tallies as the visitors jumped out to a 4-1 lead with 18:45 on the first-half clock. The Lakers (5-2, 1-1 SUNYAC) got on the board again a minute and a half later, but goals by Felix (16:55), Basile (13:49) and junior midfielder Lauren Corbett (1:50) yielded a 7-2 Knights' edge after 30 minutes of play.

Felix started and finished a 3-1 Geneseo spurt to start the second half that made it a 10-3 lead with 17:54 remaining in regulation. Down the stretch, Oswego pulled within five, 10-5, with 5:02 remaining, but Felix (3:53) and Cregan (00:59) put the game out of reach as the Knights remained unbeaten in SUNYAC play.

Senior goalie Claudia Coleates notched a season-high 10 saves to preserve the win as Geneseo out-shot their hosts, 24-19.

Geneseo will return to action next Tuesday (Apr. 19), hosting SUNYAC foe Fredonia at 4:00 p.m.
