Junior attack Katey Hart

GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo junior attack Katey Hart scored five goals to lead the Knights past visiting Oswego, 13-3, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play at Saratoga Field on Thursday.

Senior attack Caroline Buonocore added four goals and two assists in the Knights' fifth-straight victory.

Geneseo (11-1, 3-1 SUNYAC) scored seven goals in the first half, interrupted by only one Oswego goal. Buonocore put the Knights on the board as she hurled in the ball into the Laker net 15 seconds into the game. Senior midfielder Emily Haggerty followed up with two consecutive goals seven minutes apart. Haggerty's second goal came after a scramble in front of the net to make it 3-0 at 20:14.

Following a turnover by Oswego, senior midfielder Kylie Caesar scored her eighth goal of the season, assisted by Buonocore at 17:07. Oswego (8-4, 1-3 SUNYAC) got on the board with a goal at 15:03 on a free position shot by Lindsey Eggers.

The Knights ended the half with three consecutive goals in the final 7:20. Hart was assisted by Haggerty before sophomore midfielder Liz Felix dished the ball to Buonocore for another tally five minutes later. Hart ended the first half by converting a free position shot for the Knights' seventh goal of the game with 00:46 on the clock.

Buonocore opened up the scoring in the second half with a free position shot at 26:24. Three minutes later, Hart took an assist from senior attack Meredith Weber to make the score 9-1. Just 10 seconds later, Weber assisted Buonocore for her team-leading 34th goal of the season and fourth of the game.

The Lakers scored their second goal at 17:20 following a Geneseo turnover. However, the Knights took control of play again and scored another three in a row. Hart quickly scored following a ground ball pickup by Haggerty to bring the Knights to an 11-2 lead. Haggerty followed up with her own goal three minutes later. Another three minutes later, Hart scored her fifth goal of the game and 32nd of the season, assisted by Buonocore. Oswego would get the last tally with a free position shot at 00:31 to make the final score 13-3.

The Knights outshot the Lakers 31-11.

Junior goalie Laura Passamonte made two saves on the day.

Geneseo will honor their seniors at their last regular-season home game against Oneonta on Saturday at 1:00 pm in SUNYAC play.
