Women's Basketball Remains Unbeaten, Tops Potsdam 62-37

GENESEO N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo senior guard Kara Houppert tallied 9 points as the Knights defeated Potsdam (1-7, 0-4 SUNYAC), 62-37, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play, Saturday.

Geneseo (8-0, 4-0 SUNYAC) led 15-8 after the first quarter. The Knights took a 10-point lead after a pair of free throws by sophomore forward McKenna Brooks and led by double digits for the rest of the contest. They went into halftime leading the Bears 36-15.

Geneseo led by as many as 26 points in the third quarter that finished 53-28, and extended that lead to 27 points at the 9:07 mark in the fourth quarter. The Knights bench chipped in with 28 points and the team also scored 22 second chance points.

The Knights return to action Monday (Jan. 2nd) as they travel to face Medaille at 4:00 p.m.
