LOUISVILLE, Ky. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore outfielder Danni Napoli was named an All-Region Second Team selection by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Tuesday night.
Napoli led the SUNYAC in batting average (.451), on-base percentage (.513) and slugging percentage (.755). In conference play, she hit at an even higher clip, batting .475 against SUNYAC opponents. She carried a 20-game hitting streak from March 15 to April 23, batting 31-for-65 over that span.
Geneseo's 29th NFCA All-Region honoree since 2000, Napoli becomes the first Knight selected to the NFCA All-Region team since 2015 when pitcher Corrin Spallone was named third team. She is the first Geneseo outfielder to receive the honor since Katie Holm, a 2010 second team selection.
A SUNYAC First-Team All-Star as well, Napoli currently owns the Knights' program record for career batting average (.444) and is one of only two players to bat over .425 in multiple seasons, batting .426 in her first-year campaign and .451 from the plate as a sophomore this season.
