GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore outfielder Danni Napoli was named a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) First-Team All-Conference selection for the second year in a row.
Napoli led the SUNYAC in batting average (.451), on-base percentage (.513) and slugging percentage (.755). In conference play, she hit at an even higher clip, batting .475 against SUNYAC opponents. She carried a 20-game hitting streak from March 15 to April 23, batting 31-for-65 over that span.
In a must-win game against Oswego on April 28, Napoli hit 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, and three runs scored to lead the Knights to a 9-2 victory. The next day, the sophomore went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run against Cortland, helping Geneseo to a 3-2 victory.
Napoli has been named an All-SUNYAC First Team selection in both of her season as a Knight. Through two seasons, she ranks as the program's all-time leader in career batting average, hitting .444. She is only the second Knight to receive all-conference first team honors in consecutive years since the SUNYAC began naming two all-conference teams in 2012, joining infielder Samantha Trapasso (2012-13).
