GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore outfielder Danni Napoli smacked a home run in game one and first-year Abbey Whitney laced a walk-off RBI single in game two as the Knights earned a pair of conference wins. Geneseo earned a 2-0 victory in game one and a 3-2 win in game two over State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) foe Brockport.

GAME ONE
Sophomore pitcher Taylor Moore twirled a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits while recording a pair of strikeouts. Notching her second shutout of the season, Moore improved to 5-1 on the year with the win.

The Knights scored once in the first inning on a solo shot by Napoli and again in the second when senior outfielder Alyssa Presutti drove in a run with a groundout to the right side. Senior first baseman Abby Dennett and sophomore third baseman Anna Merante each recorded two hits in the game.

GAME TWO
First-year pitcher Ashlyn Kersch earned the starting nod on the rubber, tossing 7.0 innings and allowing two earned runs on six hits to earn the win. Geneseo trailed, 2-0, after the fourth inning, but tied the game with two runs in the fifth. Sophomore outfielder Alyssa Persich led off with a single and came around to score on a Napoli double. Merante lifted a solo home run to tie the game at 2-2.

In the seventh inning, Kersch worked out of a two-on, one-out jam when Persich made a great running catch in center field and doubled up the runner at second base to end the inning. In the bottom of the frame, Napoli started a two-out rally with a single and advanced to second on a Brockport error. Whitney stepped in to pinch hit and poked a single through the left side, driving in Napoli for the game-winning run.

NEXT UP
The Knights move to 9-3 on the season with a 2-0 mark to begin their SUNYAC campaign, and will return to action on Tuesday, April 4 with a doubleheader against Keuka College.
