Game 1: Geneseo 10, Houghton 3
A six-run second inning, highlighted by back-to-back home runs by first-year Danni Napoli and sophomore Claire VanNewkirk gave the Knights an insurmountable lead in the opener. First-year Kylie Papagelos had three RBI in the game, two in the decisive inning.
After the Highlanders opened with a run in the top of the first, Geneseo responded in the bottom of inning. With two out, Krok singled through the left side and scored when VanNewkirk doubled on a line drive ripped past the shortstop that rolled all the way to the wall in left center.
The Knights broke open the game in their next at-bat. Junior Jacqueline Santilli and first-year Taylor Moore opened the inning with infield singles and both moved into scoring position after a sacrifice bunt. Papagelos drove both home with an opposite-field double into the right-center gap and came in to score when first-year Alyssa Persich followed with a double of her own to make the score 3-0. After a pitching change, Napoli greeted the new hurler with a two-run home run on the first pitch and VanNewkirk followed with a solo shot to make it 7-1.
Geneseo added to the lead in the fourth when Krok doubled home a pair aboard after an error and a walk. After Houghton cut the margin to 9-3 in the top of the fifth, Papagelos drove in her third run of the game with a single through the right side, scoring junior Taylor Knowles, aboard after a base hit.

Geneseo took the early lead with a pair of runs in the second and third innings. An inning later, junior Alyssa Presutti had an RBI ground-out to score Martin, on base after a lead-off double that hit the top of the wall in left, and give the Knights a 2-0 lead.
The Highlanders scored three in the fifth to take the lead, but Geneseo responded in its next at-bat. After Martin singled and was sacrificed to second, Krok came off the bench to drive her in with a triple over the right fielder's head. Presutti followed with a single to give the Knights a 4-3 lead and later in the inning Geneseo pulled off the double steal, with Presutti coming home to make it 5-3.
